NOTE: Print Paper-Backup for Electronic Quiz or Test ANSWER-FORM and use it if you expect any problem with your electronic pad (clicker). Without the paper-backup ANSWER-FORM no individual claims will be considered, but only if problem occurs for majority of class. If you decide to use the paper-backup ANSWER-FORM you must use your clicker first and write the same answer using a ball pen in the form before the timer expire for every question - this is VERY important since use of pencil and corrections are not allowed. You must be sitting at the end of the row so that the TA and Instructor may check on the above and collect the form immediately after the quiz/test is finished. If you believe that posted electronic score is false you must review your paper backup form with your instructor within one week after the score is posted online, otherwise electronic score will be valid.
Clarify everything with your TA and Instructor since not following all requirements will void your test score entirely.
NOTE 2(from Class/HW/Lab/Exam Policies/Rules ): Every electronic correspondence (email etc., copy to be sent to TA) must have subject line with the course number and semester-year (without spacing) and a relevant heading in it (key words are fine, e.g., 101sp09 WH1 solution, for MEE101 Spring 2009 and related to Homework #1 solution). Your email must finish with your full name "signature," since many of you use an alias for your email address. Otherwise your email may be discarded with an "Auto-Reply: Sorry that your email could not be processed due to one or more of the following: (1) the class keyword is missing or improper (should be without spaces, etc) in the Subject line, and/or (2) no sender's name at the massage-end, and/or (3) no copy to TA, as per our class rules stated during the lectures and posted on the Web."
There may be verbal HW assignments given in class. Check with your classmates if you missed the class.
The User Name and Password, for copyrighted and other protected materials to be used for this class ONLY, are given in class. You may share it with your classmates ONLY.
NOTE: We have ordered CPS-Clickers (see Photo ) in our Bookstore to be used in our class for quizzes and other educational purposes. You have to buy your personal CPS-clicker (it is required) and register it immediately online for our class as per instruction that comes with it (also Instructions(Ours) at www.eInstruction.com; the Class Code is: J48960H712 ). If you already have the CPS-clicker you will have to register it for our class (read instructions that come with the clicker or talk with a classmate who already used it in another class).

Study my article, Energy: Global and Historical Background (Abstract), in Encyclopedia of Energy Engineering and Technology (B. L. Capehart, Editor), ISBN: 978-0849336539, Taylor & Francis/CRC Press, 2007. Try to comprehend and make sense while you are reading, as well as to remember the most important facts and concepts, since there will be a related quiz on the due date. For example, a question may state: "The fossil fuels' share in the total World energy consumption is close to: (a) 80%; (b) 70%; (c) 50%; (d) 30%. In the reading-assignment article above it is stated that about 85% of the total energy consumption is from the fossil fuels, thus the (a) choice is the correct answer.
